I bought a greenhouse window opener, which I am unable to fit despite chilling the whole thing on 3 different occasions. I did not notice if your catalogue mentioned a window size. My Greenhouse is over 40 years old but I have had at least 3 openers over the years and they have fitted no problem. Not anticipating any problems I seem to have disposed of the packaging.

The product is shown as rusty in all pictures and described as such however it comes as polished steel and you have to wait for it to rust over time. This need to be made much clearer. Product a bit flimsy too

We ordered the copper real to go around flower pots to stop slugs from eating almost everything in the garden. This does stop slugs but not completely. It is difficult to fix and the birds have the curiosity to peck the product from the flower pot as it shines brightly.

Items arrived quickly and and packed really well. Only thing is that some items were to be given as presents but had horrible labels on wrapping which I had to remove.

Our allotment raised bed kits arrived with two corner supports missing and 4 extra packets of screws! We have improvised using materials we happened to have, but still have 4 extra packets of screws and do not like the waste. Otherwise raised beds looking fine.

Ref - Pea & Bean Slotted Frame (the large, 3-4 metre version): GOOD - prompt delivery; good quality materials. And now its up - looks to be doing the job. BAD - inadequate instructions. Whilst not a D-I-Y enthusiast, I don't consider myself completely non-practical...BUT I / we found great difficult "seeing" where things went; physically aligning slots without becoming a cross between "Twizzle" & 3-handed. The online video is SO misleading - just showing the very easy joining of supports & completely missing the aerobatics required in aligning / constructing the frame. As an ex-Project mgr, the question is - what happened to the "end-user test" by typical (ie non techie!) users ? That would have identified & allowed you to resolve simply most of the issues through better diagrams, instructions & "hints & tips". PS. Minor, but frustrating point - why pack (hide!) some of the important small grub screws with the large metal stakes - as the latter only needed at the end..so screws are easily missed..& I started to use my own screws as I cursed quietly! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to feedback. Above all meant constructively.

The products I received were good. I was very disappointed with the delivery . A card was put through my door with nothing written on it . The form said they had not delivered my goods. 3 days later I found my parcel in my front garden in one of my bins. fortunately the plants were still alive.

Order arrived before the bank holiday, rather than after as I had been advised. Wasn't away yet, so little creatures didn't die in the heat of the porch. As for efficacy, you'd have to ask the slugs (though this time last year we had orange slugs as big as sausages, haven't seen any this year). Waiting now for the second batch.

There was a mistake on website, we knew it was a mistake but couldn't get round it. Price for netting was £5 ish rather than £105 ish !! However we were contacted by phone the next working day and order was completed over the phone and delivered shortly afterwards. Usual Harrods quality. Thank you.

The very late arrival made 'fitting' the support to plants quite difficult as they had grown much larger than anticipated. Good information though on slippage.

Arrived quickly. Good solid construction. However I misread the instructions and had to remove the brackets. The screw heads were not robust enough to unscrew without "camming out" and I had to drill out the original screws and replace the original screws.

The standard kit, as supplied, results in a somewhat flimsy structure which requires more corner braces than actually advised when ordering. Additional braces had to be ordered for the centre poles each side. The door to the cage, as supplied, was too flimsy and when hung could not support its own weight without sagging resulting in a poor fit which looked unsightly and difficulty in aligning the latch with the frame. Again this had to be rectified by the purchase and fitting of more corner braces to make the door retain its proper shape. In my view these additional braces should be supplied with the kit even if it means the price rises slightly. A boring tool to drill holes in the ground was ordered but this WAS NOT SUPPLIED. The instructions are often vague especially when it comes to the hanging of the door and it is not made plain that when corner braces are fitted, the door cannot satisfactorily hang from the corner post since the hinge operation is impeded. The kit is sound as far as it goes but is lacking in the necessary reinforcements as outlined above. As I say these extras ought to be included even if the price had to be adjusted. Not to do so merely causes frustration as well as delaying the project.

Product excellent however, was emailed to say customer services would be in touch to arrange delivery. Never got a call. Arrived home to find goods left on front lawn. If I had been away (which we frequently are) they could have stayed in the rain for a week.

1) The product is good. 2) The catalogue and on-line ordering was not clear on how necessary it is to have both sockets and footplates. I purchased both but found that I did not need the foot plates. These were returned and because of the weight, cost £13 to return by parcel post. 3) The 'Assembly and Installation Instructions' gave me a further couple of surprises in recommending that the roof pieces be assembled first and used as a template to located the poles. This is fine if the ground is clear but I was replacing an existing fruit cage and had fruit canes and bushes in place already. The connectors are not designed to come apart once inserted. The need to have several extra hands is not always easy to arrange either. I think that some indication of these recomendations in the online details would have been useful to me. 4) When I came to fit the roof net, I found that it was short on both length and width. I telephoned to inform you of this and was told to return the net, at my expense, so that it could be measured. As it happens, I had my old net with which to replace the new one and thus was able to maintain protection from bird damage whilst transit and checking times were ongoing. I would have been reluctant to return the net if this had not been the case. I am still waiting for the outcome of your checks on the returned net.

I have ordered many items from Harrod Horticultural over several years, including; raised beds, weed proof membrane, tools, and netting with hoops. The products are of a very good quality and relatively easy to install/assemble. However, my recent purchase of hoops and fitted netting are not of the same high quality as those ordered previously. The netting does not fit as well, does not feel as strong and is not as well made. I think you could improve your service with more accurate delivery times. I was notified that my last delivery had been dispatched and would arrive soon, but it did not arrive for a week! Meanwhile, because it was a large and expensive delivery, somebody had to stay at home waiting. This was very inconvenient! Most on-line companies are able to tell customers exactly when their items will be delivered and provide tracking information, this would be very useful.

Ordered a 5m x 10m insect mesh net for own-build brassica cage. Unfortunately the net is not 5m wide, but with two 2.5m strips joined together some 10cm is lost. Questionable whether it was 10m long due to irregular cut of end, but not so important as my cage is only 5m long. The 19mm clips are good, but get pulled off in high winds; here the lockable Easy Clips, though only 16mm, are better but more expensive. On subsequent order for more clips, Harrod were good in refunding my P&P after I forgot to apply Free P&P code.

My rating of 'normal' is based on very good service in terms of supply but product supplied (netting) was not the full dimensions indicated at time of purchase. When stretched the netting was short by 10cm on one of its dimensions. Very disappointing and made it difficult to install on the fruit cage that I had constructed.

Nice product, good range of spray patterns and feels well made. Developed a fault, but Harrod Customer Services replaced even though it was outside of the guarantee period.
