“To my mind, good customer service isn't just about whether a company gets it right first time - it's really about how they handle things when they get it wrong. Harrod Horticultural sent someone else's order to me instead of mine, to my utter bemusement when I unpacked it. But when I phoned them, they sorted it out very quickly - the courier arrived the following day to pick up the misdelivered package, and my own order arrived a couple of days after that. I would have given them five stars if they'd got it right first time, but they deserve a solid four stars for sorting things out quickly. And by the way, delivery is very fast!”

“We bought the netting frame saver clips for use on one of your vegetable frames, which in principle are an excellent idea. However, it does take much longer to fix the netting under the cage rather than over. Also fitting the clips to fine mesh is not easy and fiddly and tends to damage the netting, when fixing”

“I ordered cabbage collars and Nemasys biological control for root flies as last year I had problems with cabbage root fly. I have to say, however that cabbage root fly attacks were just as bad even after applying the collars and 4 applications of Nemasys. This cost over £20. I would not recommend either of these products from my own experience.”

“Although my HotBin composter has only been in use for 3 weeks, all seems to be progressing well and the temperature is creeping up. Of course, it needs a few more months before I can make proper assessment, but I am pleased so far.”

“The fruit cage arrived promptly on the Thursday, apart from the poles which arrived under separate carriage on the next Monday. All items were well packaged. The instructions were clear but the DVD mentioned to help construction never materialized. However what looked like a relatively simple DIY task turned out to be very different as it assumed that the ground was flat. My raspberry canes are on sloping ground and I had to shift a lot of soil - otherwise there would have been a large gap under the netting in one corner; an ideal access point for blackbirds. The catch on the door also presented problems - mainly because my ground is sloping. Now erected, the cage looks fine and is functioning well.”

“Order number 1632542 Last year I bought a pair of gauntlets (then yellow with black sleeves) which are excellent. This year I looked on the website and thought I was buying two more pairs, one ladies and one gents. I did not realise that these were Gold Leaf Tough Touch gloves which had a shorter sleeve part but still a yellow hand part. What had confused me was that the gauntlets I thought I was buying now have a cream coloured hand part. Having said that the Gold Leaf gloves were a present for my daughter and son-in-law and serve their purposes very well and deal well with the brambles in their garden and are very comfortable to wear. The only drawback is that the yellow dye used ran onto their hands for the first few wears.”

“1.the border restraints worked very well and did the job 2. the blue decorative pot stand is very useful and looks good in my garden. got a few compliments as well. only thing was the holes for the fittings were not correctly aligned. My husband drilled in some holes to put the fittings in and it was alright.”
