“Definitely needs 2 to assemble and appears off central as you are constructing the frame . The composter spins freely and one side is already full. I'm awaiting my first lot of compost .”

“Writing a few days after assembly, the quality looks good – strong metal and plastic used throughout. All fittings went together properly and the result is a good-looking, rigid structure that I guess will last a long time. One criticism: As so often, the instructions could and should be much better quality. First, they consist of a few black & white A4 sheets stapled together. Second, the words and pictures are not always clear and unambiguous, with some of the detail so small that it is near-impossible to see what is meant. The DVD also lacks step-by-step directions, and the production quality is poor. As a result, assembly becomes a tiresome and confusing chore when it needn't be. And the new customer's impression of Harrod takes a dip – also avoidable. This is a £500-plus purchase, yet I have seen far better instructions for a £50 folding bed (to take a recent example). Yet a well produced manual, in book form with colour photographs would not only make assembly a much easier process. It could also sell additional Harrod products to the existing customer – he or she is always your best prospect – and act as an ambassador to others who admire this product and may want to know more about it. All in all, well worth the modest extra expense, don't you think!”

“I ordered two packs of Link Stakes as the postage rates are so high as this made the price per pack more acceptable. The order was processed OK but then I received an email to say that 1 pack would be delivered. There was no explanation re the change so I contacted Customer Services to discover that the GPS-230s 12 pack link Stakes 100cm x 38cm I ordered has been discontinued from the product range and that there was no remaining stock. Therefore, they cancelled the remaining pack from my order. I was not happy about this but Harrod have now refunded the postage and apologised so I have been mollified.”

“Very pleased with the products. Also pleased that when there were items missing on one order you very quickly sorted it out. Disappointed though that you have let plant stakes go out of stock at this time of year so I am having to wait more than a month for them.”

“Your service is usually of the best. However, last week I was plagued by phone calls concerning a missing item, about which your colleague said I had complained. This was not the case: the items which I had ordered previously had all been received, including the large gloves, In this case, the medium size had been sent , instead of the large size, which I had ordered. The large gloves had followed later. All the best. Keep up the good service! Michael Skinner”

“Good customer service and delivery etc. However, I bough netting that was supposed to be 4m wide and some of it turned out to be only 3.7m wide when I had put it in position (partly because it is somewhat creased in the roll), which caused some inconvenience.”

“Product arrived very quickly by post. It did seem thinner than I thought it would be. It has ripped in parts already as I have now put over allotment beds to warm up soil. Despite being well secured by pegs.”

“I purchased an aluminium fruit cage. The cage was reasonably priced and easy to build, but the additional braces which are required to give it extra stability were very pricey. Not enough cable ties were in the kit, about half of what I eventually had to use. The door is of a bad design as it sags under its own weight ( a much better design is utilized by Northern Polytunnels with fixed rounded corners - ie not jointed at the corners). Getting the roof netting on was a nightmare until we thought of a foolproof way - folding in half, lacing down the fold with soft tape, tying it across the middle of the longest length and then opening the two halves along the length before attaching the hooks. Harrods U- tube video was hopeless: the man said that getting the roof on was as easy as "throwing a duvet over a bed". To be so flippant is disgusting as we wasted several hours which could have been avoided with some clear instructions.”

“I have been looking for a wider kneeler/seat for awhile so was pleased to see this one in your catalogue. It's just what I wanted as it is wide enough that the edges of kneeler do not cut into my knees.”
