I found it helped break open the soil as a first stage in scarifying process for my lawn but still had to re-scarify using a rake, which got out significantly more dead grass than I expected after using your wheeled scarifier. My major criticism is that when it was used by me, with the handle of the scarifier at an angle of 45 degrees , the blades did not go into the grass sufficiently deep. As a result I had to bend my back lower so that handle was at 30 degrees to the horizontal, to ensure that the teeth on the scarifier went deeper still into the grass to get the best results

Good quality products but, as usual with Harrod Horticultural, very over-priced. If I could get the product or anything comparative anywhere else I would not choose Harrod Horticultural.

Obviously we would like all our customers to be completely satisfied with every aspect of our service and would like to offer a brief explanation into our pricing structure. Wherever possible, we aim to be competitive when fixing prices on products that other mail order companies of our size stock. We spend a great deal of resources on ensuring we charge a similar price and wherever possible, we try to give our customers an even better deal. We try to source superior products to offer to our customers and also try to research, design and manufacture our own products wherever possible using superior materials. Thank you for your review and your order. We are very disappointed to learn that the item you ordered did not meet your expectations. The planks used to make our Timber Raised Beds are pre-cut and are pressure treated prior to delivery into our warehouse. As wood is a natural product, hairline splits may already be present and timber will sometimes change shape to suit certain weather conditions. Timber will hold a certain amount of moisture which causes the wood to swell. Once the moisture content leaves the wood, which is usually during the summer months, it will shrink back to its standard size but can then split to relieve the tension between the fibres within it. Once the wood becomes moist again during the winter months, the wood will swell, causing the fibres to be pushed back together to close the splits. Timber planks will also start to bow when one side of the piece of wood dries quicker than the other. Cracks and bows can be corrected by using a wet sponge to add moisture to the dry side and allowing both to dry evenly. Please rest assured that quality control is of the utmost importance to our company and is monitored regularly. The wood used for our Timber Raised Beds is always checked prior to dispatching to the customer. If you are still not completely satisfied with this explanation and feel that the splits/damage to the planks could be a structural problem, we would be most grateful if you could send us photographs so that we may evaluate the situation. Clips for large diameter hoops to protect crops have been discontinued. Neither older style (thicker) hoops or clips are now available. I bought smaller clips for the latest size of hoop but they pop off the larger hoops in the wind. Overall - an unsatisfactory outcome given my original investment.

Regrettably we no longer stock 25mm diameter hoops or 25mm hoop clips and these were discontinued from our range some time ago. We do stock alternative 19mm hoops and clips. The fruit cage arrived in two separate consignments, the courier professing no knowledge of when the second might arrive, Harrods couldn't tell me with any accuracy either, each seemed to blame the other. I discovered a vital piece of the door assembly missing during erection, I had waited long enough to get the thing delivered, I took matters into my own hands and manufactured an adequate substitute myself. I am fortunate to possess the skills, knowledge, tools and equipment to achieve this, how others might fare I can't say. Sadly I am coming to expect such standards of service these days, they are quite common.

All of the wood was slightly warped so when put together to create a veg box there are gaps in all corners so disappointed with the quality considering how much I spent.

Initial use of site placing order was good and item received without problems. Then normal deluge of Emails far to many which puts one off Harrod Horticultural three or four per year would be sensible structured with spring, summer and autumn and catalogues. Alternatively have an additional high frequency Email service for those who want this level of contact. Please reduce my level of Emails

Re: Brown flexible steel lawn edging. This is a strong well-made product. It will work well where lawns and adjoining flower beds are free of substantial obstructions such as tree roots and buried builder's rubble. Where such obstructions exist it may prove difficult to sink the edging strip to the required depth because the strip may pivot on the obstruction. Check the ground carefully - I didn't! I have given a rating of "Normal" as the product didn't work too well for me but I can see that in better ground conditions than mine it will work well.

Good product (trellis) but very slow for order to be processed/delivered, I had to chase up to find out what had happened. Not sure if it would have ever arrived without my intervention, only received automated email responses, never heard from a person at the company.

The good bits, the product is large, solid and looks as if it will last well. It arrived quickly and the carrier was helpful. The not so good bits, The assembly took the two of us a very long time. Sometimes the instructions and the diagrams were not entirely clear. We still have not quite worked out how the stays to keep the top open should be fitted. We were a woodscrew short, and are sure that there should be two more nuts to stop the bolts holding the stays at the back from wobbling about. I am going to put the beans in it today!

I stood it on the patio and IT BLEW OVER! Fortunately it was far enough away from patio doors and planters not to have done any damage, but I am going to have to sink it into the garden. Not as sturdy as you advertised. Strange my review has not made it onto your website. I wonder why that is?

I ordered 2 items on 14th March. One of the items was out of stock and I have been kept informed of expected delivery dates but there has been no mention of the other item, which I have yet to receive.

I didn't realise i had to put these together. When the bits were delivered i checked the website and the info was at the end on the next page and in small print. For the price paid this was disappointing. However, I am pleased with the finished product.

I like the product and I think the design of some of the fixings are good. Delivery etc was efficient. However I ordered two cages of different sizes but the delivery had bundled some of it together which gave me a bit of a nightmare to sort which piece went with which! A better diagram or picture of the finished product might have helped at this initial stage. When constructing the cage the most maddening and frustrating feature is the sleeve that needs to be slipped under the door hinges and locking system. The design is great in that it fully secures the component in the place you want it, but getting the sleeve in is nigh on impossible! The tip to put a coin in the joint so as to open it only seems to make matters worse! A shame as this could easily be overcome with a slight alteration to the sleeve design.

My lawn is heavy clay and waterlogs easily and is smallish at 50 sq metres. I thought I would make light work of it by buying a more expensive tool. The previous reviewer said that this aerator does not clog because it has tapered tines. Perhaps my soil is just too clayish because the tines clogged very quickly. I used the tool on my lawn when the soil had dried out which is speaking relatively because it takes a very long dry spell for the soil to become completely dry. So the soil was slightly moist when I used the aerator. I now feel I should have just bought a cheaper aerator. Perhaps this tool would not clog up on a lawn with low clay content but I would imagine most people trying to aerate a lawn which can become compacted and waterlogged have a heavy clay-biased soil anyway so I am not particularly impressed with it. Ultimately I am getting the job done slowly but can only completely clear the tines when I flush them with boiling water. I tried WD40 but this didn't help, the tines still clogged. My advice, just get a 'standard' aerator, this expensive tool will do the job no quicker.

Very pleased with our fruit cage. Very disappointed with its condition at delivery: it was minimally packed so packages split and open and about half the metal bars and uprights were scraped to the metal. This was a combination of v poor packaging and damage in transit. What a waste of a good product! Harrod sent us a can of paint to rectify!

Two sacks of veg top soil purchased. Delivery needs addressing. Pallets were broken so moving the sacks wasn't easy for the driver. Also there are bits of waste plastic in the soil. Not really needed in a high cost product.
